Service dogs are dogs specifically chosen to render assistance to humans who have disabilities. There are many breeds of dogs that are suitable for service dog training. These include but are not limited to Labradors, Retrievers, German shepherds and many others. The name service dog entails that the dog helps humans in some way. They can be seeing eye dogs, hearing dogs for the deaf, seizure alert dogs, mobility assist dog and many others. Not all breeds are suitable for service dog training. Some breeds are too small or too big while others are too lively and temperamental. The breeds of dogs listed above are among the top dog breeds which qualify for service dog training.
